Our story

Founder of Sparkle Therapy and cancer survivor Sophie van Haalen in chemotherapy ward.

When co-founder Sophie van Haalen was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer she was just 36, a seemingly healthy, busy mum of two young boys with a thriving career in tourism marketing.

Life was quickly turned on its head undergoing a year of intense treatment including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and immunotherapy… Sparkle Therapy was soon dreamt up with a vision to spark joy for other patients enduring cancer treatment.

Inspired by the kindness their family received during treatment, Sophie and her husband, Symon, turned their own experience into something purposeful — combining it with their passion for creating memorable experiences to give other families uplifting moments of their own.
